Gulf coast trip

Location: Merida Centro (Santiago)

Notes: This place is even better than I thought it would be. We arrived in the after noon and the first thing we did was tear off our clothes and went skinny dipping in the private pool.

Bill picked up Jehn from the bus station for her week long visit with us. She got the front bedroom and we took the casita at the back of the property which had the king sized bed.

On Tuesday I went for my surgery. It took about 2 1/2 hours for the surgeon to install an implant, harvest a piece of bone from my upper jaw and graft it into place where the buckle is missing. This will eventually allow me to have a new tooth installed in about 6 or 7 months when the bone has knitted and solidified.
Meanwhile, I am on pain medication and antibiotics and my cheek is swollen up like a chipmunk. At least I am in a fantastic place to relax and heal by the pool. Bill and Jehn are exploring the restaurants of Merida while I am reduced to soft slurpy foods. I love my Doctor, Roberto Sosa Milke. He is a young man with an 8 year old daughter. His father is also a surgeon and actually did one of my check ups because Roberto was detained at the hospital.

We spent the week enjoying Merida and moved on to our house sit the following Friday. My mouth is almost back to normal.
