Name: Hwy 185 Huatusco to Xalapa
Location: Veracruz, Mexico
Notes: The first half of the trip was amazing. Once we passed all the slow trucks we were able to enjoy the twisty turny roads and the fresh cool air at 1400 mts.
The second half of the trip the road was under construction. At one point we came to a long line of cars at a standstill. We drove to the front of the line to see a backhoe being pulled up the steep embankment of the road. (Major advantage of motocycles!) Apparently it had gotten too close to the edge and rolled off. It was pretty badly damaged. Luckily it didn’t take long to get it out of the way and we were able to continue our journey.
