Notes: The roads should be pavement perhaps with potholes after the border. Need to have papers available for customs and immigration. Gary’s bike has finally caught up to us, much to his relief and delight.
We are a bit delayed getting on the road this morning because of it. There are many fires burning in Angola and the Congo, so there is a haze and a faint smell of smoke in the air – kind of like the Okanagan.

Border between Namibia & Botswana, 11:45 a.m.

Weather: Clear Temp: 26C
Notes: Its the usual paperwork of checking out of one country and checking into the next.
On our way to the border we went through a game reserve.
There was a sign that said watch for elephants and sure enough there was a herd of elephants following a trail right across the road. We got there when they were still about a 100 meters away but subsequent riders had to wait for them to pass. Lots of photos were taken!
It is still very dry and starting to get hot, especially when we are stopped. All the riders have to register their bikes but I am a passenger so I only have to wait patiently.

Notes:
Bayne had us stop for lunch at a bbq restaurant where we had chicken and rice and coke, water. We weren’t expecting much from the food but it was actially really tasty chicken and the side was chopped greens, maybe spinach? I didn’t eat the rice.

Arrival at Sedia Hotel, Maun, 6:36 p.m.
Notes: It was dark by the time we got into our hotel. We got our rooms and ate dinner. 
I was exhausted so went to bed early. Tomorrow we plan to take a small airplane out over the famous Okavango delta.
