Notes: Oh man but the riding is hot! Two years ago we stayed at a campground in this town on the gulf. We could stay here again but it means quitting for the day very early. We both decide we will have something to eat and continue on. Google says we will arrive in Merida around 5pm.
We ate Chicken and beef panuchos and the yummiest orange juice !

Notes: I was so hot and desperate for a cold bottle of water, I headed to the Oxxo without saving the picture. It was blessedly cool in the store. I bought a large bottle and guzzled nearly half of it by the time Bill came in.
Then it was buck up, only two more hours of inferno driving

WE MADE IT!!

Notes: We stayed at this hostel in the Garcia Gineres neighbourhood of Merida the last time we were here. We liked it very much and so booked it again, albeit a different room. But we ended up arriving a day early and our room was still occupied by someone else. No matter, Lisa let us set up our tent beside the pool for the night!

Notes: It is not easy finding an open restaurant in the evening around our neighbourhood. Mexican main meal is at 2:00pm and so all the chicken restaurants and comida familiares are all closed by about 4:00pm. We had to walk a few block to get to a more touristy area where the restaurants are open in the evenings. I ate Quesadillas while Bill had the beef stew. He drank a beer and I enjoyed a glass of jamaica.
