On the road
Location: Highway B4, Namibia
Notes: The roads are graded A, B, C or D in Namibia with A being modern highways, B a paved secondary road (could contain potholes and broken pavement), C are well maintained dirt or gravel roads and D roads can be sand, gravel or just a couple of ruts heading toward some small village or a rest camp.
After 100kms of a bone-jarring, energy sapping C road, we are finally back on pavement.
Both Jean and an Australian woman, Deb had mishaps this morning. Both of them ended up riding in the truck for the next few days. Unfortunately Deb twisted her ankle in her fall so won’t be riding for another week, but Jean will get back in the saddle as soon as we reach some reasonably paved roads.

Arrival Accommodations , 2:30 p.m.
Location: -Luderitz Nest Hotel
Luderitz, Namibia
Weather: Clear Temp: 34C
Notes: We checked into our hotel room after a long dusty desert ride, had a shower and went for a walk into town. I was searching for a store that sold Namibia SIM cards for my Note 4 phone so that we would have internet where ever we are. A man in a variety store told us to go to a cell service store across from the train station. We bought a sim card 7 days of calling and data.
Cost: 47zar
It took some fanagaling to get the sim card to work. Bill went to join the others in the bar while I struggled with it. Turned out to be a dirty sim holder so I got it working., Unfortunately the data connection is very slow. But it is data.
Went down to the hotel bar with the others. Jean and Ross agreed that it would be nice to eat in a restaurant in town instead of the hotel so we asked the others but only Mike wanted to come with us.
