So my Navigator had us taking little tiny roads that barely show up on Google maps. Google maps suggested taking the main highway CA11A which we had taken from Gracious to LA Esperanza.Needless to say we took the main highway. BAD MOVE! It was a brand new highway coming in to LA Esperanza, going out it was the outline of where a highway was going to be one day.For 20 kilometers we picked our way over pitted, gullied rocky road allowance. We met the occasional truck going in the opposite direction which gave us the encouragement that we weren’t going to be stopped at some unpassable blockageA bracket holding our side bags that we had just got welded broke again. Bill stopped to take it and it’s mate off so that they wouldn’t scrape against the side bag. It wasn’t until about a half hour later when we were back on good pavement t that Bill realized he’d carefully stowed away all his tools and left the brackets sitting on the road. Oh well. We need to have stronger brackets made anyway.
