We booked this place for 2 nights.Medellin is huge! The red brick buildings spread up the mountainsides from the valley. Bill’s GPS kept failing as we tried to follow it through crazy heavy traffic. Finally we arrived in the proper neighbourhood but couldn’t find the address. The roads are ridiculously steep here and we found ourselves at the top of a hill on a dead end (haven’t we been here before?!!) I walked down again, looking for the right street- we knew we were close. No luck. Finally we showed a taxi driver the address, but he didn’t know it either. Bill tried calling, but no answer. We had just remounted and started down the street when a motorcycle pizza delivery guy asked us if we were lost. Gratefully we showed him the address. He told us to follow him. It was a very short distance away.We did. I rang the buzzer for the apartment but got no answer. The pizza guy started ringing all the apartments and various people answered and spoke in Spanish and English, all trying to figure out what was going on. Finally our hostess opened her door. She was on the phone with her daughter in Germany. Apparently she hadn’t expected us until the next day.Meanwhile, I was feeling quite ill with my stomach upset. I just wanted to lie down for a while. Clautilda showed us to our room and I sat down on the hardest bed I have ever felt!It rained hard in the night. Between the hard bed and upset tummy , I didn’t sleep very well. Partly cloudy 25
