This was one of the more expensive hotels we have stayed in on our trip. However our room was huge and had a seating area around a nice little fireplace. The grounds were lovely with lots of gardens and farm animals like llamas, sheep, pigs and chickens. The hotelier was a Ca??ari, the type of people who have traditionally lived in this area. All of the women who worked there wore the traditional Ca??ari dresses and hats.Once we moved our bags to our room we drove down to the ruins of Ingapirca. Our guide was named Segundo Rosales, himself a Ca??ari. He was very passionate and knowledgeable as he showed us the difference between the Inca part and the Ca??ari part and told us a bit about the history of the area.We met an American doctor in the parking lot who comes here several times a year with a group of volunteers. He told us about a trail down to the river that had some interesting things like a rock that looks like a face. We were too tired to take the walk- still getting used to the altitude. We decided to go in the morning. We had a trout dinner at our posada that was delicious then went to our room to relax in front of a warm fire. The evening was decidedly chilly!
