Coroico Peru For the last week or so we have been at altitudes greater than 3000 meters. This town is well below that at about 1800 Peters. This means we are hot. I was still feeling sick and all we wanted to do was find a hotel and get settled for the night. It was quite late in the afternoon. The road to Coroico is cobblestone and at least 6 kilometers long. Horrible bumpy ride! When we got into town there were a lot of cars and congestion though it is not a very big town. There were lots of hotels but it was difficult finding one that had parking. On a backstreet we did find a hotel that had parking and because it had parking we said we would take it. It was the worst room we’ve had I think on our trip. We had a shared bathroom and shared shower and a room that did not have a window to the outside just into the inner courtyard. In the room that was a bed and TV although we didn’t use it. That’s it. The sheets were stained and I wouldnt use them. We used our own sheets that we carry with us all the time. It was quiet until about nine o’clock in the evening and then the family came home and I guess had their dinner and had the radio playing and everybody was talking. iIt was really noisy because all the windows face the courtyard. We ate our dinner at a little Mexican Cafe call the bamboo cafe. Bill ordered enchiladas and I ordered tacos. When they came it was hard to tell the difference. Both dinners had rolls on the plate and refried beans poured over them. Bills enchiladas had meat and tomatoes and some other things in there and mine had the same but also lettuce and as far as we could tell the lettuce was the only difference. The one good thing about it was that they were both very tasty. We discovered later that we could have stayed at a number of different hotels in that town that were like resorts with swimming pools and comfortable areas rather than the crummy little place that we stayed at oh well. In the morning we were on our way to find the death Road. This is a very famous Road that is considered the most dangerous Road in the world. I’m not sure that’s true but anyway we’ll be on the road and we’ll find out for ourselves.Hawaii for bfast
