The walkway stretches for more than a kilometer across the river. At times when there is a lot of rainfall in Brazil the river floods. A few years ago the river swelled to the point where it took out the original walkway. It had to be rebuilt but sections of the old Bridge were still visible. Water is incredibly powerful stuff!
