We were finally able to see the church covered in lava at San Juan Parangaricutiro. We hired three horses (One for our guide) for about $30. US.It was a beautiful day for a ride! We saw pine trees being tapped like maples for their turpentine.As we headed down to the church we saw many people walking back up. Turns out the alter is still in use by the locals for worshipping.
