I like colonial type hotels because they almost always have an interior patio with trees, flowers and chairs to lounge in. This hotel is like that. Our room is small and there is often no water but otherwise it is a comfortable base to relax and recuperate from our exhausting day.We have booked a tour of the Somoto Canyon tomorrow and will continue our trek to Costa Rica in Friday.The central park here in Somoto is amazing! It looks like the rainforest with lots of native trees and plants. There is a wonderful cafe in the park and we enjoyed our first "real" coffee in days.There is a clock tower one street over that loudly chimes the hour and the half hour, all night long.
