Notes:: The trip costs 1000 pesos so depending on how many people go the price per person varies. In our case there were 4 of us so 250 each.
This morning, after eating oatmeal and mangoes for breakfast, we boarded a fishing boat and headed off in search of dolphins. The bottlenose dolphins are endemic around here so one can usually be assured of.seeing them.
Our captain first took us to see some small islands populated with white pelicans, herons and frigates. Then we headed off to find the dolphins. We searched a pretty wide area for about an hour without seeing anything. Finally we stopped on a sand bar and.strolled around looking at sea.shells, hermit crabs and old coconuts with faces.
Then we got back into the boat.and did another turn around the bay. Nothing! Discouraged and.out of time our.captain headed us back to our campground. We were just about to dock when the captain got a phone call. Dolphins spotted! Our captain turned the boat and sped off. 5 minutes later we were following a.pod of dolphins as the cruised around feeding off the fish in the.bay.
It was lunch time when we got back. We both ordered fish and both choices were EXCELLENT!
