Gulf Coast trip

Rating: 4.0

Location: HACIENDA SANCHEZ, Valladolid
Notes: We arrived very hungry so just put our stuff in our room, changed out of riding gear and went to the restaurant.
There must be an old car meeting here, many are parked and one being driven around.

Note: In fact the cars belong to the owner of the hotel who collects them. They are in pretty good shape considering they have not been extensively restored, if at all.

This is a very nice hotel on the outskirts of Valladolid. It was at one time a working hacienda that produced heniquen, a fiber that was used for making ropes for sailing ships and jute material for the basis of woven rugs. The rooms have been constructed around a miniature square with a central fountain and a chapel at one end. Very pretty grounds dotted with remnants of machinery from its working days.
