Name:: Sunday trip to Sisal & Celestún
Location: Yucatan
Notes: We had been told that Sisal was a nice quiet beach town with good swimming so we headed off on the bike to go see. When we got there it was too windy to swim and I disnt see any place to shower away the salt water after swimming. Instead we had our lunch in a seafood restaurant
The fish was good but I had the garlic fish and boy was it garlicky!
After eating we decided to continue on to Celestún about an hour away. It is also a beach town but a bit bigger. This is the area you go to to see the flamingos. At certain times of the year there are thousands of them on the estuary. We only saw a couple a long distance away.
I like this town. It has a nice zocalo which was set up with a fair with childrens rides. We bought icecream and ate it in the zocalo then had a soft drink in a restaurant on the beach.
