Location: Campeche, Mexico

Bill had chosen a hotel in Uayamon while researching this trip online. The reviews all mentioned that there were few guests at any given time so Bill didn’t bother to book in advance. When we got there, there was a wedding going on and there were no rooms and no restaurant services. We were so hot and hungry! Thats when we discovered there was also no cell service in the town.
Bill asked the hotel manager for the wifi password and tried to find an alternative hotel. We were going to have to go into Campeche.
So we got back on the bike and headed for the coast.
About 5 minutes later we passed a palapa that had several cars parked in front. I could see tables under the palapa. We stopped and sure enough there was a restaurant. Bill had a hamburger that he said was very good. I had a chicken sandwich that was not! The chicken had the texture of the scrapings of chicken that had stuck to the bottom of a frying pan. The tomato, lettuce and pickled onions were good though.
As we ate we looked at the signs that were everywhere. Turns out this is a little eco park with pools and camping and cabins. And not too expensive! We could stay here instead of going into Campeche. We rented a cabin and went for a swim.
