Woops! , 2:56 PM

Name:  Shadow ROCK Campground

Notes:  This was the place I had picked on the camping app this morning.
Not happening!  Everywhere we’ve been so far seems to be contending with flooding.  Many of the rivers have been dammed to create levees and these have overflowed their banks.  Even the mighty Mississippi is flooding.  This poor little campground is on a bend in a river that has decided to become a lake.

Accommodations, 6:23 PM

Weather: Sunny

Temperature: 26C

Name: America’s Best Value Inn

Cost: $65.

Notes: Normally we are relaxing at this hour instead of looking for a hotel.  But hotel it has to be because the campgrounds are always near a waterway!
We almost walked away from this one because it was too expensive but the boss finally agreed to our $60. Plus tax. It was a good choice too because it had a guest laundry! We were able to wash our very stinky clothes.  And of course it was wonderful to have a shower and a comfortable bed.

Eats – Dinner, 7:14 PM

Name:  Village inn

Cost: $25.60

Notes:  I guess whatever we had for lunch was substantial because we chose lighter fare for dinner.  Reubens sandwich, tomato soup, pecan pie, ice tea
