Title:On the Road – gas stop
Notes:Gas is proving to be a problem in this country. Many gas stations have no fuel and others will only supply it if you have a voucher. Hugo and Bayne, after much discussion with the gas station owner, have negotiated for 100 litres to be shared among us. Looks like we will make it to Harare afterall.

Title: Police stop
Location: Harare
Weather: Clear Temp: 24C
Notes: We were stopped at a police stop just on the outskirts of Harare. They made us show our passports, they took down license plate numbers, then after half an hour said someone else had to approve our passage and we had to wait. So we waited another hour until a truck full of people showed up. They took down license numbers and took pictures and conferred with each other. The friendly police woman who dealt with us first kept telling us it was just formality and we would be on our way shortly.
After another half hour or so they said we were good to go, so we started getting on our bikes and moving toward the road. Then she stopped us and said they needed to contact one more person to get the ok.But we are still waiting…apparently some issue with our visas…?
At 4:30pm they decided we could go. The call that Matt made to the consulate in S.A. may have had something to do with it. Not too sure. Happens that Matt’s wife works there in high capacity but the officials who overheard him make the call didn’t know that!

We have totally missed lunch inless you count the little icecream cone we bought from an icecream vender at the police stop.We checked into our room, had a well deserved shower and spent the half hour until dinner time resting in our room.Segment 3 located at: https://www.google.com/maps/@-17.8313797,31.0356991,100m/data=!3m1!1e3Shared via Flexible Journal
