Spectacular glacier. At the moment it has advanced to where one leg of the lake has been blocked. The water level has risen about 10 meters. A cave has formed inside the glacier where it touches the land and at any time it will collapse allowing the water to flow again.We took a guided trek out onto the glacier . They gave us crampons to put on our boots and showed us how to climb up and down ice hills. We tasted pure glacier water and Bill drank whiskey at the end of the tour. This is the last year Bill could do this trek because participants have to be under 65 years old.
