It was in this little village that Bill dropped the bike for the first time. Neither us nor the bike was hurt, but it required a local family to come out of their house and help us get the bike back on its wheels.Again our gps had failed us. It wanted us to go through this little town then follow a really rough road for about 60 kms. Instead we went back out to the main road and went the long way around. This way took us to Tegucigalpa, the largest city in Honduras. There was a ring road bypass for the city, but when we took it, a few meters in we had to ride over a strange dirt berm to get up to the highway. It wasn’t until we started along the road that we realized there had been a landslide that had taken about a half dozen houses with it down onto the lane we were supposed to be in. A few meters later we were diverted back up onto our proper lane. Wow, the power of nature and the stupidity of man!
