It was so hot when we arrived all I could think about was going for a swim in the lake. We pitched our tent and put away our gear before getting into bathing suits and attempting to find our way down the steep slope to the water.My socks were covered in prickles by the time we got down and I had to remove them before getting into the water.Man the water was freezing! It took some time but we got used to the coldness and had an enjoyable ten minutes swimming and floating.Much refreshed we went back to our camp.Later we met a guy who was there fishing with his brother and 80 year old father. They were fascinated with our travels and had us come to their campsite for a cold beer.It was hot sleeping but tolerable. We only needed our sheets, no sleeping bags.This was a beautiful desert campsite. I didn’t think I would like the desert but this area had its own beauty and charm.
