Pulled into the dumpier motel of the two motels in this one horse town. The office smelled strongly of cat pee and the woman who checked us in just couldn’t stop talking long enough to do the paperwork. Luckily our room was clean and did not smell of cats. It was freezing cold though so I put the heater on and we went out to eat. When we got back it was still cold and I realized the register in the floor underneath the heater was the air conditioning going full tilt. I covered the register and opened the door to let in the warmth from outside.We sat outside on chairs taken from the room.The decor was early 70s and I’m sure the original including green shag carpeting. 2nd Street Vaughn, NM 88353 Sunny 21
