Notes: We are taking an Uber cab to Table Mountain today with Jean and Ross. This morning we had our breakfast and met with several more of the other participants in the tour. Geoff from New Zealnd sat with us and we got to know him a bit better.

Special Attraction – Table Mountain 11:56am
Notes: We were hoping that the weather forecast was going to be right and that the clouds would move away from the top of the mountain. But it was not to be. By the time our cabby let us off at the base of the cable car, the mountain above us was pretty socked in. We talked to the girl in the ticket office and found out that the cable car ride was $35.00 per person and that it was cold, windy and foggy at the top. There would be no view of the city from there. As it was, the view from where we were was pretty spectacular.
After a discussion, we opted to go for a hike along the road to a trail that the ticket lady told us was about 2kms long. It was a beautiful walk, with a surprising abundance of flowering plants on the sides of the road. 
I thought this tumble of rock and flowers was what every gardener is trying to recreate when they plant a rock garden.
When we finally got to the trail head we were in for another disappointment. The trail is considered a high risk area for muggings and signs warned us that no one should travel alone on the trail. We were four people, but we sure didn’t want to run into any trouble, especially since we haven’t even started our motorcycle trip.
Instead we walked back to the cable car and caught another Uber cab back to a restaurant close to our hotel.

Notes: They were sold out of the lunch specials so we shared a whole chicken dinner with Jean and Ross that included buns, coleslaw and 2 ltr coke. I had a bottle of water.

Special Attraction – GPS meeting 7:00pm
Location: La Mizu Lounge
Notes: The group got together for the first time so that we could learn about how to use our gps to follow the ‘tracks’ that Compass has laid out for us. Lots of individual conversations broke out afterwards as we began to get to know one another.
We ate a pizza and churros. Bill had 2 beer and I had a Becks non. One of the other participants left without paying for his 2 beer so we paid that tab too.
